For BC · Assisted Living
Assisted Living Software for BC Operators.
Most of what runs a community living agency runs an assisted living residence too — facilities, programs, forms, case notes, and health. Built in Canada, with residents at the center.
Built for Assisted Living operations
The same platform, with residents at the center.
Karis already covers the work an assisted living residence runs on. The supported-individual record becomes the resident record — everything else follows.
Facilities & units
Model your residence, units, and capacity — vacancy and licensed occupancy visible at a glance.
Programs & services
The personal-care and hospitality services you provide, organized as programs.
Forms & documents
Your own forms, built once and signed electronically — agreements, assessments, consents.
Case notes
Documentation tied to the resident, attributed and reviewable.
Health & medication
Medication administration and health logs recorded at the point of care, on any device.
Incident reporting
Incidents captured with the fields your standards require, kept on the resident's record.
Why Karis, for Assisted Living
Three reasons it fits an AL operator.
Built in Canada.
Your residents' data stays in Canada, with per-tenant isolation and privacy built into the architecture.
Resident at the center.
Health, consent, case notes, and history all hang off the resident — not off a roster or a billing line.
One system, on any device.
Facilities, forms, health, and incidents in one platform — used at the point of care, not from a desk afterward.
Incident reporting
The Registrar’s reportable incident report, as a form in the system.
Reportable incidents come out in the BC Assisted Living Registrar’s reportable incident format (HLTH 1622) — a finished PDF you review and file, not a generic form your manager retypes into the Registrar’s template afterward.
It is a built-in system form with its own renderer, so the fields the Registrar expects are the fields your staff filled in at the point of care. You still submit it yourself — what Karis removes is the transcription step in between, and the errors that live there.
New to the Registrar’s rules? Read our plain-language guide to the BC Assisted Living Registrar: registration, the changes you must report, the 24-hour incident rule, and records.
In production
Running a working agency, not a demo tenant.
Talitha Koum Society — a Coquitlam supportive-recovery agency in an adjacent sector — migrated off their previous system onto Karis Care in July 2026 and runs their programs on it today. Karis was built on their workflow, and it carries their residents, their records, and their reporting deadlines.
Switching to Karis
Moving off your current system, without the toll booth.
The hardest part of switching is usually the bill just to get started. We take that out.
- Data migration commitment. We help move your resident records — migration assistance is included, not quoted.
- No setup fees. You start by using the product, not by paying to access it.
- No exit toll either. Export your reports in open formats whenever you like, and ask for a complete copy of everything at any point — we prepare it within five business days, free. Switching to Karis shouldn't cost you the ability to switch again.
- And 60 days to change your mind. Tell us within 60 days of your first payment that Karis isn’t right for your agency and we refund everything you’ve paid — with your data exported and handed back.
Questions
Assisted Living software, answered plainly.
It is software that runs the operations of a residence — facilities and units, programs and services, resident records, forms, case notes, health and medication, and incident reporting — in one system with residents at the center, instead of spreadsheets and disconnected tools.
Yes. Karis is built in Canada with residents at the center: the supported-individual record becomes the resident record, and facilities, units, programs, forms, health, and incidents all follow from it — the same platform that runs community living agencies.
Yes. Karis Care is built and hosted in Canada, with per-tenant database isolation and Canadian data residency on every plan — your residents' records are stored and processed in Canada and do not leave the country in the course of normal operation. Three support services run outside Canada — transactional email, error monitoring, and billing — and all three are named on our security page. None of them stores your records, though a notification email can include a resident's name, and billing carries your administrators' contact and payment details, never care records.
Yes. Medication administration and health logs are recorded at the point of care on any device, and incidents are captured on the resident's record. Reportable incidents come out in the BC Assisted Living Registrar's reportable incident format (HLTH 1622) as a finished PDF you review and file yourself.
Yes. Data migration is included in onboarding, not quoted as a line item, and there are no setup fees. We help move your resident records so years of history come with you.
We charge only for the residents you support. Staff, logins and storage are included, and there are no per-feature add-ons. Prices are published: Karis Care starts at $200/mo for up to 10 residents on an annual commitment, billed monthly. See the pricing page.
