For BC · Ministry of Children & Family Development

MCFD Care Management Software for BC Providers.

Software for the work you do under MCFD — programs serving children, youth, and transitional-age young people, from residential to outreach and respite. Intake, case notes, and reporting, built in Canada and mapped to how BC funds and reports.

Mapped to how MCFD actually works

Intake, recording, and reporting — the way you do them.

The fields, the cycles, and the documentation you already work to are first-class in Karis — built for the way you're funded and report.

Intake & referral

Referrals into your programs captured with the right fields and consent from the first contact.

Case notes & recording

Documentation tied to goals and to the child, youth, or family — not floating in a log.

Reporting

Reporting shaped around what you submit, so month-end isn't a re-keying exercise.

Service categories

Programs are typed and each carries its own target population — children, youth, or transitional age — so a residential program for youth and an outreach program for families are separate records, not one generic template.

Why Karis, for MCFD

Three reasons it fits an MCFD provider.

Built in Canada, for BC funding.

Your data stays in Canada, with per-tenant database isolation — and the MCFD workflows are native to how you're funded and report.

Person-centered, like your practice.

The child, youth, or family you support is the center of the record — consent, history, and case workers included by design.

One system, intake to reporting.

Intake, case notes, and reporting in a single platform — so nothing lives in a spreadsheet on someone's desktop.

In production

Running a working agency, not a demo tenant.

Talitha Koum Society — a Coquitlam supportive-recovery agency in an adjacent sector — migrated off their previous system onto Karis Care in July 2026 and runs their programs on it today. Karis was built on their workflow, and it carries their residents, their records, and their reporting deadlines.

Switching to Karis

Moving off your current system, without the toll booth.

The hardest part of switching is usually the bill just to get started. We take that out.

  • Data migration commitment. We help move your records — migration assistance is included, not quoted.
  • No setup fees. You start by using the product, not by paying to access it.
  • No exit toll either. Export your reports in open formats whenever you like, and ask for a complete copy of everything at any point — we prepare it within five business days, free. Switching to Karis shouldn't cost you the ability to switch again.
  • And 60 days to change your mind. Tell us within 60 days of your first payment that Karis isn’t right for your agency and we refund everything you’ve paid — with your data exported and handed back.

Questions

MCFD software, answered plainly.

It is software built for the work MCFD-funded providers actually do — programs serving children, youth, and transitional-age young people, including residential, outreach, and respite — covering intake and referral, case notes, consent, and the reporting your contracts require, in one system instead of spreadsheets and disconnected tools.

Programs are modelled by type — residential, outreach, respite, foster care, home share and others — and each one carries its own target population, including children, youth, and transitional age. So a residential program for youth and an outreach program for families are separate records with their own intake, recording, and reporting, rather than one generic template. There is no MCFD-specific form in the product today; what fits is the structure.

Yes. Karis Care is built and hosted in Canada, with per-tenant database isolation and Canadian data residency on every plan — the records of the children, youth, and families you support are stored and processed in Canada and do not leave the country in the course of normal operation. Three support services run outside Canada — transactional email, error monitoring, and billing — and all three are named on our security page. None of them stores your records, though a notification email can include a name, and billing carries your administrators' contact and payment details, never care records.

Yes. Case notes are tied to goals and to the child, youth, or family — not floating in a log — and reporting is shaped around what you submit, so month-end is not a re-keying exercise.

Yes. Data migration is included in onboarding, not quoted as a line item, and there are no setup fees. We help move your records so years of history come with you.

We charge only for the people you support. Staff, logins and storage are included, and there are no per-feature add-ons. Prices are published: Karis Care starts at $200/mo for up to 10 people on an annual commitment, billed monthly. See the pricing page.
